While many were eagerly anticipating the return of the much loved
This is England series following on from the success of This is England,
This is England '86 and This is England '88, Shane Meadows went in a
different direction, he created the documentary Made of Stone about one
of his favourite bands, The Stone Roses.
The success of
the 'This is England' franchise has allowed Meadows the opportunity to do
what many directors would love to do, carry out a personal project
about a band whose impact on british music since the 80's can't be
underestimated.
The cinema release saw the premiere simultaneously shown across 200 cinemas throughout the UK and Ireland, with many selling out. The film centres around the reformation of the band and hero worship from the adoring fans.
Following the release social media sites were awash with talk of the The Stone Roses and with the band about to embark on sold out shows in London and Glasgow and an appearence at this years Isle of White festival the film is sure to do well.
You can find out more on the official Facebook page here and we are now ready for this is England '90 Shane so chop chop!

Can Pegg & Frost Do It Again?
The completion of the self proclaimed "The Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy" comes in the shape of The Worlds End. Following on from Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz will not be easy for the dynamic duo but with a large and ever growing fanbase, if anyone can do it they can.
The Worlds End centres around five friends who are trying to recreate an epic pub crawl from twenty years ago, at some point in turns into a fight for survival for mankind.
The unimitable style will undoubtedly be on show again here and we will see the kind of characters that we all relate to rather than the uber muscled, ludicrously handsome Hollywood stars that we see in most action films.
Hitting the screens on July 19th I am sure it will go on to be just as huge as everything else these two seem to touch and I for one can't wait to see it.
